Halloween 2004
Amelia (age 6 1/2) wanted to be a rainbow for Halloween! Last year, she
was a Mosaic, so I expected something creative again.
We made a modified
version of her costume (ironing on a rainbow on her shirt) for occasions where
she needed to be able to move freely. She wore this one to ice skating class,
they suggested the kids wear their costumes. (she's in Beta, working on learning
backward crossovers. She's been taking lessons for about 10 months now.
Amelia wore her
full costume for the Halloween Parade at school. She could take the big
rainbow off for games at the carnival. She was the only rainbow at the
school, although there were a wide variety of creative looks. It was fun
to see the kids and the teachers.
Amelia went
trick-or-treating with some of her school friends-- Haley was the Statue of
Liberty, and Picabo was a devil. They had a great time going around the
neighborhood. Amelia actually decided she had enough candy, and for the
next few houses she went up to the door, but didn't offer her bag. She
just wanted to say "Happy Halloween!".
